About

I build the parts people actually touch.
I care about how software feels to use and how it holds up underneath. Most of what gets made now stops at the first version that works, and what interests me is the one after it: the interaction that lands where you expected, the schema that still fits the problem a year later, the request that isn’t trusted just because it arrived. Generation is cheap now and pulls everything toward the average. Going past average is still a choice, and people feel the difference even when they can’t say why.
Currently a full stack developer at eŠola d.o.o., the team behind eAsistent, a school platform used across Slovenia. Alongside it I’m finishing a Computer and Information Science degree at FRI UNI Ljubljana. The thesis is all that’s left.

Software Developer
NoweŠola d.o.o. (eAsistent)Dec 2022 – PresentMy first engineering job, and the one that taught me the most. Full stack work on eAsistent, the school platform used by schools, teachers, students and parents across Slovenia. Trusted to maintain what was already there, and to plan, architect and build what came next.
What I built
- Company UI library
- Designed and built from scratch. It is now the foundation every new project across the company starts on.
- Public-facing experience
- The public landing page and the authentication flow behind it, end to end, from the UI through to the backend.
- Document management and signing
- A system the company uses to generate, issue, track and electronically sign contracts and contract annexes for kindergartens across Slovenia.
- School systemisation
- Part of the team building a system for planning and managing a school’s organisational structure, staff, subjects, classes and the workflows around them.
- Teacher payroll
- Part of the team behind the calculation engine, carrying the rules and requirements of Slovenian legislation.
- Timetable generator
- The constraint-based algorithms underneath it, balancing a large set of school-specific rules against each other.
- AI chat layer
- Part of the team integrating an AI conversational layer into the school management platform, bringing LLM capabilities into existing workflows.
Across the stack
- Legacy systems and migrations
- Maintaining and extending the existing platform while leading the major migrations off it: Laravel 5 to 12, Vue 2 to 3.
- Backend, frontend and database
- The whole path through the application rather than a single layer of it.
- CI/CD and infrastructure
- Designing and maintaining the deployment pipelines and the infrastructure they run on.
- Algorithms and prediction
- Prediction models, and the constraint-heavy algorithms powering the timetable generator.
Beyond the code
- Project leadership
- Planning and leading projects from the initial requirements and architecture through to implementation and delivery.
- Mentoring
- New hires and students on placement, to the point where they are productive and independent.
- Hiring
- The technical side of engineering interviews, from interview design through to evaluating candidates.
- PHP
- Laravel
- Vue
- TypeScript
- NestJS
- PostgreSQL
Software Development Intern
PhosphorlandMay 2022 – Jun 2022Built the company website front to back during a month-long internship in Portugal: authentication, file storage and realtime data on Firebase, localised end to end with i18next.
- React
- Firebase
- i18next
Engineering Intern
Hella Saturnus SloveniaAug 2021 – Aug 2021A week on the factory floor building a workbench that guides a line worker through assembling a car headlight, one step at a time. A vision model checks each step as it is completed: screws seated, parts aligned. A fault surfaces at the step that caused it rather than at the end of the line.

Projects
Things I’ve built.
eAsistent landing page
The public face of eAsistent, built end to end, and the sign-in behind it: two-factor, YubiKey, QR-code login from a signed-in phone, PIN and CAPTCHA. That is a lot of ways in, for an audience that ranges from teachers to parents to a fourteen-year-old on a school laptop.

- Laravel
- Vue
Closed sourceLiveMedia Attention Analyzer
An interactive tool for exploring what Slovenian media covered and when, across 73,461 RTV articles from 2017 to 2026. It draws an attention timeline for any topic, finds the peaks on its own, and breaks each one down with TF-IDF, UMAP and k-means. FastAPI and scikit-learn behind a React and ECharts front end.
- Python
- scikit-learn
- React
UpLearn
A school management system built end to end as my graduation project at Vegova: timetables, lessons, absences, grading, staff and events across nineteen related models. NestJS and Prisma on PostgreSQL behind a React front end, with JWT auth, mail and Excel export.
- NestJS
- React
- PostgreSQL
Wordle Engine
A solver that plays Wordle against a 15,964-word dictionary, averaging 4.1 guesses and solving every word in the list. Written in Java with its own test harness to score it over the whole dictionary.
- Java
Side-Scroller Engine
A side-scrolling platformer written from scratch against SDL2: an entity-component system, tilemaps, collision and animation, with levels, a scoreboard and saved runs. An exercise in object-oriented design, and in hunting down memory leaks in C++.
- C++
- SDL2
